I’m clearly missing something here.

So, during downtime at work, we’re pretty restricted on what we’re allowed to do. One of the things we CAN do is read the local papers. Which sort of suck, but they’re better than nothing, and I’m getting pretty good at the crossword puzzles. Anyway, so because of this, I’m much more up to date [...]

Snowpocalypse

I have a rant about snow. I started this rant in an email, I’m expanding it JUST FOR YOU! So, Vancouver doesn’t deal with snow well. Several reasons: One, we’re a hilly, hilly place. I don’t know if you noticed those big mountainy things over there, but it turns out that even being at the [...]

Dating is weird.

So, previous to my last relationship, I was kind of … committed to being single. Other than a few short relationships every few years, I’d been essentially single since I was 20. I’ve also generally been involved in a community that often goes by different standards than the general population. The result of this is [...]

Sometimes people ask me weird questions.

So, my job is basically to give people directions. It’s easy, but I like it. Sometimes I get some more interesting questions, though… “I need to be at 29th & Main & Broadway…” Uh… are you sure? Mom’s response: “I think I was there once in the ’80′s.” I laughed.

Why I love the general public

“…and that’ll drop you off at 4:57.” “No, I need to be there at 5…” “…” I love the general public.

There’s really no point to reading this post if you don’t play Warcraft. No, really.

So, I play a holy paladin. The next patch is going to have some nerfs that directly affect me. Divine Light mana cost has been increased by approximately 10%. Flash of Light mana cost has been increased by approximately 10%. Holy Light mana cost has been increased by approximately 10%. Hmm. Well, that kinda sucks, [...]

Preparing for the Zombie invasion

So I was recently convinced to try out archery. I’ve had a vague interest in the concept for a while, but SCA-wise, always had other things to focus on. But, been chatting with a friend who’s an excellent archer who convinced me to try it out. I tagged along to fight practice tonight, strapped on [...]

Fostering

So one of the things I’ve wanted to do for a long time is help out more with dog rescue. I have a rescue dog, and I honestly can’t imagine ever buying a dog from a breeder. My disinterest in raising puppies may have something to do with that (although you can get rescue puppies, [...]

What once was lost has now been found

So I had a 6:30am shift on Friday. This worked out really well, as it meant we could leave for Ursulmas on Friday night, instead of waiting until Saturday morning and leaving reaaaally early. But, 6:30am shifts mean I have to be up at around 4am so as to have enough time to walk the [...]
