Puppy Lust

Carol Ann's New Puppy

Meet… well, Puppy. He doesn’t quite have a name yet. And no, he’s not mine, he belongs to Carol Ann. Yes, Carol Ann got a new puppy for Christmas. Despite all the “you shouldn’t get a puppy for Christmas” stuff, this actually makes a lot of sense — my parents have a month off work to get him comfortable, work on housetraining, etc. And while he’s theoretically Carol Ann’s puppy… well, she ain’t gonna be the one who gets up at 5am when the puppy needs a pee, right? Anyway.

So, this is what a 7 week (and one day) old golden retriever looks like. Adorable, ain’t he? He’s so freaking cute I could vomit with adorableness. Nick? Can we have a puppy? I promise I’ll look after it…

He's got a little growing to do.

And this is what a 7 week old golden retriever puppy looks like in the full sized crate that used to belong to my parents previous golden retriever. He, uh, has some growing to do.

Along with Carol Ann’s other gifts (an iPod — I can say that, because she doesn’t read my website. At least, I hope to god she doesn’t read this website. Mom? Don’t let Carol Ann read my website.) there is no possible way that they can EVER top this Christmas. Seriously, an iPod AND a puppy? How you gonna beat that? A magical unicorn that poops rainbows? Yeah, that’s about it.

We have decided to call him Jasper. Reasons: It’s Canadian…yes I know from Alberta but BC’s choice was Salmon Arm which doesn’t work. My mom called little no-see-um type bugs Jaspers which is sort of what he is. I don’t see him until I’m tripping over him and he is a bug-er….what other criteria is required for dog names? None.
