First thing: So, the main side effect I was warned to expect with the new drug is “fatigue”. Somewhat concerning, because… well, I tend to be pretty tired most of the time anyway. And while it’s not TOO bad — I can definitely still function just fine, it’s really bizarre how fast it hits me. I take a pill, and within 5-10 minutes, my coordination, concentration & general wakefulness drop like a rock.
This means that when a weekend comes, and my morning routine is interrupted, and I forget to take the pill until just before I’m about to make some soap, my soap-making thoughtfulness goes a little sideways. Nothing like meticulously measuring out lye while your hand is thinking “hey, I should just let this go and have a little rest…”
Today I made an attempt at making some sparkly soap. We’ll see how shimmery it is in a few days.
Second thing: God, I love lazy days. Nick was in Seattle for the day, so I made a point of doing virtually nothing (save making soap & walking the dog.) It was great. I slept in super late, I goofed off online, I watched about 8 old episodes of House… it was grand. Nick got home around 8, we got some pizza, snuggled on the couch, went over some math stuff (I’m taking my math assessment on Wednesday, and totally don’t remember how fractions work — shush, it’s been 20 years since I had to deal with math without a calculator), and finished off the Totally Lazy Day with some Warcraft.
Sometimes, you just need a day like that. Tomorrow, I’ll be more productive. Maybe make more soap, too.
