I wrote a post a while ago about how not to get raped, based on those ridiculous forwards that people send about not having long hair, not jogging, never being alone, and basically never leaving sight of a man you can trust who will take care of you (who is, statistically, much more likely to rape you than a stranger.)
I am a much bigger fan of this list for how to prevent sexual assault. I hope this helps! Follow each of these instructions very carefully, they’re guaranteed!
Oh, except #9, that’s the only one I object to: You can, but only if you have permission first. Aww yeah.
I’m just waiting for someone to send me one of those stooopid forwards so I can snap that back to them.
After following the comment thread on dearheart’s site, I am so sad. Some people just don’t get it.
When years ago I was assaulted by a supposed friend, my doctor told me it wasn’t assault because I went out with him to a bar, had some drinks and then went back to his place. My female doctor.
Fuck.
I was just totally confused, cuz I couldn’t figure out where dearheart’s site came into play, but ahah! Figured it out — that wasn’t her site, it’s another site that uses the same wordpress template. :D
But … yeah, that’s … *argh*
Ah, silly me, that’s what I get for commenting on little sleep.
Ah, the typical pattern of feminist blog posts has managed to evolve in the day since I last checked it.
