As of now… I’m off caffeine.
I’m going to kill it for a month or two and see if I get any decrease in the amount of headaches. No more coffee, no more caffeinated tea, no more diet coke, no chocolate… I’m even going to cut out T3′s when I DO get a headache. (Easy enough, I’m out.)
I am a sad panda. I love caffeine. I expect for the next few days to be dog tired and cranky as fuck. Please send all sympathy cards directly to Nick. He’s generally pretty patient with my usual dumbfuckedness, but this? I suspect that this would test Mother Teresa.
Must buy a case of caffeine-free diet coke. Hate water. Hate juice. Like diet coke. Is tasty. If I’m going to be all caffeine withdrawled, I may as well have something I like drinking.

I kicked all caffeine about 18 months ago as I used to get through 2L of Dr Pepper a day plus a can of Red Bull first thing in the morning and at night.
I had 2 weeks of intense headaches at about 3pm everyday but I just rode it out with water. Like you I loved fizzy drinks but get bored of water and only like juice cold – difficult to keep around with you all day.
I also don’t like sweetners and all caffeine free colas were of the diet variety I was stuffed.
No I just keep a good stock of expensive cordial and bottles of carbonated water to mix it with. Lemongrass & Ginger or Plum & Apple are my favourites. It suits my craving for fizzy drinks without the downside of aspartame or saccherine.
The only downside is that after I gave up alcohol as well it has made going to the pub very difficult.
