Firsts? Be gentle.

Am unoriginal, do not have any thoughts other than silly memes. Actually, have review of nice french restaurant, but no time to write yet. Instead, have meme I stole from Lori via Facebook.

Your Firsts

1. Who was your FIRST prom date?
We don’t really have “proms” in Canada. But I was dateless at my graduation party (along with all my closest friends), which is the rough equivalent.

2. Do you still talk to your FIRST love?
Depends on what you consider love. Actually, not really — there are a few candidates, and I’m still in infrequent contact with all of them.

3. What was your FIRST alcoholic drink?
Something frothy that was made for Christmas when I was 13 or 14, and given to me to see how it tasted. Later that night, I installed a new (handheld!) scanner, drunk off my tree.

4. What was your FIRST job?
Title on my business card? “Internet Support Services”. Actual job? “Gopher” or “Hey, do this.” Was an interesting little real estate based web design company in ’96. (Hi Jeff!)

5. What was your FIRST car?
Bright blue ’93 Plymouth Sundance.

6. Who was the FIRST person to text you today?
Nick, a few hours ago.

7. Who is the FIRST person you thought of this morning?
Nick. Hard not to, he’s also the first thing I see when I open my eyes. Or at least, the blanket-covered lump that I refer to as Nick in the morning is.

8. Who was your FIRST grade teacher?
Mrs. Rygnestad. She was pretty awesome. She was also my second grade teacher. She called me Little Mary Sunshine. Googling indicates that, oddly enough, she is now the principal of the school I went to in grades 6 & 7. Go figure.

9. Where did you go on your FIRST ride on an airplane?
I can’t be sure, but I think it was from Ft. St. John to Vancouver. Or maybe the other way. I seem to recall a tale of flying with my cousin Linda when I was 8 or 9 months old or so. First one I can remember would probably be Hawaii when I was 4… or maybe Toronto when I was 4. I’m not sure which came first. What? I was 4.

10. Who was your FIRST best friend and do you still talk?
Danielle Daigle. Hadn’t heard from her in years, but we reconnected via Facebook recently. She has a large brood of children now. Craaazy.

11. Where was your FIRST sleep over?
Heh, probably at Danielle’s place. Or possibly Chrissy Blakely’s.

12. Who was the FIRST person you talked to today?
Justice. Oh. Person? Nick.

13. Whose wedding were you in the FIRST time?
Does my mother’s count? I was technically right up there with the bride, what with her being all pregnant with me and such… other than that, I was the flower girl at my aunt Donna’s wedding when I was 5.

14. What was the FIRST thing you did this morning?
Hit “snooze”, told the dog to shut up, and went back to sleep for 11 minutes.

15. What was the FIRST concert you ever went to?
Lollapalooza ’94.

16. What was the FIRST record/tape?
Tape? No idea. CD? New Kids on the Block. Hah.

17. FIRST hospitalization?
I can’t remember what was wrong with me (I seem to think I had a nasty bladder or kidney infection or something) but I was 8. It was also my last hospitalization, save for the night I spent in the ER, which I’m not counting.

18. FIRST foreign country you’ve been to?
I’m pretty sure almost every CDN will answer this the same way: the US.

19. FIRST movie you remember seeing?
Honestly, no idea.

20. When was your FIRST detention?
Grade 6, after playing Bloody Mary in the girls bathroom. Oops.

21. Where did you FIRST meet your spouse/partner now?
October ’07, at his (now our) apartment. Although we had been to god knows how many of the same events prior to that, and I seem to think that I talked to him briefly at a couple of them, but it’s also possible that it was some other bald guy… there are a few of them around.

22. Who was your FIRST roommate?
Rebekah, in Oregon.

23. What did you do with your FIRST paycheck?
Damned if I know. Hookers & blow? Candy? I got a car not too long afterward, so they started going toward gas money.
