Crafting my life away

So, I’m a member of this club… and the first rule is, I’m not supposed to talk about it. And the second rule is… I’m not supposed to talk about it. But I can see by your face that you’re already a member.

Anyway. I am totally on the “I want to make shit” bandwagon. It’s awesome.

So, for Christmas, Nick bought me a soap making kit. It’s nice and basic, a set for melt & pour glycerine soap, with some scents, dyes, and a rectangular mold. I was exceedingly excited, but put it off until tonight.

Better yet, I was inspired by my current bar of soap, which I reviewed in November. I’m about halfway through the second bar of that, by the way, and I still love it immensely.

Which brings me to my shockingly awesome idea: Do it yourself loofah soap.

So, I stopped by the dollar store on my way home, and for a mere dollar, bought a loofah, just like that one.

Sliced it up, fit it into the mold, melted my wax, added my additives… and I currently have two lovely red bars of soap sitting on the kitchen counter hardening into awesome glycerine scrubby soap. I am very, very excited and am looking forward to trying them out.

Update: I am SO FREAKING PLEASED. Of course, I haven’t been able to start scrubbing yet, but they look GREAT, and so far seem to have turned out exactly how I was hoping.

SOAP!

Well, but half of the brain is missing; someone’s apparently cut it out. I suppose that explains the color.
