Is it bad that I’m upset that it’s both election day (or “Get rid of Harper day” as I like to think of it) and patch day?

Eh, politics more important. I park my ass on the couch and stare intently at the tv & laptop for results… and maybe log in once or twice to update my add-ons…
In other news: Am miffed that the elections website sucks ass. If anyone can find the address of the polling station for postal code V5L5E4, I’d be most happy. It’s a school on Hastings St, but I don’t know the exact address. Gragh.
Edit: Ah hah! My mad googling skills has deducted that it is most likely MacDonald Elementary, as this is about 4 blocks from my apartment, and I seem to remember it starting with an “M”. Go me. And fuck you, elections.ca people. Working on the DAY OF THE ELECTION was a little too much to ask, eh? That’s what you get for using Windows-based software.
Website is back up. I blame Ontario, since it appears to have gone down a few minutes after the polls opened here.

Because we moved, we didn’t get voters cards, despite our mail being forwarded. The website didn’t show our polling station. Blake called the main elections number and they didn’t have the info either. He had to phone the local elections office last night to get the info.
Yeah, I moved recently too, which is why I didn’t get one. Of course, I move so bloody frequently that I’m not sure I’ve EVER received a card…

I admit it, I laughed.
I got home from work all ready to start bashing things and discover I’ll have to wait 4 hours while it downloads a FREAKING 1.2 GIGBYTE patch!
Who comes up with these ideas? “Look, our latest content is coming out soon. Let’s make everyone download the Encyclopedia Britanica (unabridged) 10 times over). What? Feed them a volume a day for a month previous you say? Why that’s preposterous! Make them get it all at once! They all have gigabit Internet connections don’t they?”
I’ve been getting stuff via the background downloader for weeks now. :)
That said, I set mine to download before I left for work this morning… and just set Nick’s to go so it’ll be ready when he gets home, too. :)
I have the background downloader running to, but for some reason last night it said I had 1.2GB of stuff to download. I gave up and did other things (sacrilege!) Then started it downloading when I went to bed. It was all waiting for me when I got home from work today.
Now the suck: all my addons were disabled.
I “enabled all out-of-date addons”, but it appears a good many of them are broken. I wouldn’t mind so much, but with CT’s menu bar mods, the “latency” widget in th e main menu bar is now the height of my screen.
Well, you had to expect that your add-ons wouldn’t work. This is the expansion patch… add-ons all get broken at expansion patches.
I use this as a good time to clear out all the excess crap I’ve been carrying around and look for new, better addons. :)
Well yeah, I did expect it. Didn’t make it any less annoying. :)
But you’re right, it was a good time to get rid of crap. I also ended up installing the Curse client, which did a brilliant job of finding updates for my add-ons and installing them for me. Many of them had already been updated for WoW 3.x. CT is still mostly broken, and having played a session that way I’m thinking it’s now one of those bits of cruft I can do without.
