Sorry, I don’t actually mean that, but I was watching the Chapelle Show earlier…
Anyway, so I went to see the fireworks tonight. I always forget… I love the fireworks. Why do I keep forgetting? I love them to the point of giddyness, they’re just freakin’ cool. Good job, China.
Walking from Nelson & Denman to Seymour & Robson to catch a bus home with 300,000 of my closest friends was interesting. Lots of police presence (as expected) and as far as I could see, virtually no trouble at all. On the way into town, we did see a few people having to pour their beers into the gutter. Poor beers. They looked so lonely…
Still, aside from the “I’m not drunk” drunk girl telling her male friend to fuck off and leave her alone forever (while they continued to walk side by side along Robson) I didn’t see any unruly people at all…
…until I got back to my own neighbourhood, half a block from my apartment, and watched about 4 guys get arrested in front of the Princeton Pub. That was rather interesting. As I was waiting to cross the street at Victoria & Dundas, 2 police cars came screaming up, lights flashing, and several cops leapt out without even taking the time to close the doors. You don’t want to know how tempting it is to steal a police car when it’s RIGHT THERE FOR THE TAKING. I hope they have some sort of “don’t steal me” system in them, because that thought is the ONLY THING RESTRAINING ME.
Come on, tell me you haven’t thought about it? FREE POLICE CAR!
Given the amount of money they invest into Police cars, I’m pretty sure they spring for Lo-jack type stuff. ;-)
I’d go for the free toys *inside* the police car. ;-)
