All right, it’s almost time for the surprise to be received, so I’ll write a little more about this whole sewing expedition I’ve been on. (The “full disclosure” will come later.)
Oh my freaking god, sewing is so much harder than knitting. It’s just shy of 5am, I can see the beginnings of dawn starting to poke it’s tendrils out into the sky… but I FINISHED THE DAMN THING.
The downside? It’s just a swatch. The “real thing” won’t be done for a while yet, as I haven’t finished the knitting part. So I have to go through all of this AGAIN. Why the HELL would I choose to do a large project that involves a fair amount of sewing? Gaaah.
On the upside, I know how to do it, so next time will hopefully be easier…
It HAS to be easier. Because otherwise, I’m going to freaking cry.
Despite the sheer frustration that’s gone into this thing so far… I am SO proud of what I’ve got so far. It’s totally awesome. Pictures coming soon.
