Vancouver

I love it when my city celebrates. I’m not a huge hockey fan, but I don’t think it’s possible to live in the city and not follow it at least a little. Coming home from the theatre last night was a kick — the city was in high fever, having watched the Canucks pull it [...]

Usability, thy name is not Transit.

Ok, the next time I complain about the translink website, remind me of BC Transit’s Victoria website. Holy crap on a stick, it’s awful. I don’t care if it’s an extra $40, taking the bike is looking more and more like a good idea all the time… Also: It appears that whatever knowledge I had [...]

Funniest thing seen this year…

…is “Hot Fuzz” by a landslide. Holy crap, that’s good shit. Swans! Conspiracies! Things blowing up! Brits! Guns! Bombs! People saying “Yarp”! HILARITY ENSUES! (Also, I did my part for the Canucks and made sure I was safely ensconced in a theatre throughout the entire game. Your welcome. Go ‘nucks!) My three favorite movie genres [...]

Banned in the USA

So, this Canadian psychotherapist took LSD in the late 60s — when it was still legal. In 2001, he had an article published about said experiences. Now he’s banned from entering the US. Niiiice. (link courtesy of Y2)

The cure for boredom is curiosity. There is no cure for curiosity.

(Quote from Dorothy Parker) I’m bored. I appear to be stuck in some kind of rut. An irritated rut, at that. I’m finding myself almost constantly irritated over things that totally don’t matter. Then, the fact that I’m getting irritated over nothing… you guessed it, irritates me. I’m noticing some of my friends slipping away, [...]

Pretty Flower

About the most energetic thing I did all weekend was walk to Starbucks with Jenn yesterday. On the way home, I got all up in this tulips stamen. I think it turned out nice.

Things that suck about Migraines

- Everything. But to be more specific: I’ve taken the drugs to make it better and knock me out. Should be no problem, I only had about 4 hours of sleep last night. Except… I can’t sleep, and now I feel like an assload of weird has crawled up my butt and settled into my [...]

Gak.

One of the worst things about this so called “aging” process: Heartburn. I really, really hope it was just this one particular sushi place making me so burny in the heart, and not sushi in general. I’m not entirely sure I can survive without sushi.

Ways you can tell I’m Canadian…

I’m addicted to coffee, like most good north americans. Unlike many, I don’t use sugar or to sweeten it. I use maple syrup. Hey, it’s cheaper than buying a maple macchiato. And surprisingly delicious. In other news, this facebook thing seems to have taken over my life. I figured out how to use it, although [...]

Facebook?

I so don’t understand this site. What the hell? I can’t find friends unless I feed it my address book? I think not. Although I did manage to find my old high school, and my graduating class. Well, look at all the people. …I have nothing in common with these people. Terribly amusing to see [...]
