So, I don’t have any wrapping paper, but I needed to wrap my sister’s birthday present. What does one do in such a situation? Well, of course I knit something up.
Turns out, gauge swatching is a good idea, even when just mucking something up on the fly. I was going to make a bag, and it’s … sort of a bag, except I cast on way, way too many stitches. So, I decreased it fairly quickly because after 2 hours of knitting, I was terribly bored. So… it’s a very, very shallow bag with a very wide mouth. Actually, I think I can make it into a nifty pouch with a little more time, but if I do that, it won’t fit the gift. So now, it’s an oblong weird thing.
The benefit of using eyelash yarn (double stranded with some regular yarn) – you can’t tell that it’s … very, very odd. It just looks like a big pink blob.
With a nifty pull that when pulled, will unravel the closure and allow gifty goodness. yay!
