New Confession

I might just be a nerd.

So, my job? It’s fun. It gets repetitive at times, and occasionally tedious, but overall it’s a really great group of people, and I like the software and the customers. The repetitive bit comes from the fact that all I do is answer the same questions over and over and over and … yeah, you get the idea.

But! Our new product is in beta. And it’s fun. I woke up this morning — and I am NOT a morning person — eager to go to work because the support team is writing most of the documentation, which means I’d have a good excuse to spend a good portion of the day NOT answering the same questions I’ve been answering for over three years (in total, with a year-and-a-half break in the middle… which isn’t bad, it’s just not very interesting) but instead playing with a fun new program, learning the ins & outs, and basically just fucking with it.

I haven’t gotten to just sit down and muck about in a fun new program like this for ages. (Yeah, I could have, but sometimes it’s hard to motivate me to do stuff like that on my own time.)

I like content management systems. I’m not a programmer, but I like what you can do with them. I’m an internet geek, and I’ve been fiddling with various CMS’s for ages. And the new one we have? It’s going to be fun.

In other news,

Good: I have a new book waiting for me at the post office.

Bad: The new shuffle I pre-ordered still isn’t out yet, and they’ve bumped the release date back.

Good: I also pre-ordered the collectors edition of the Warcraft expansion pack.

Bad: I’m spending an extra SIXTY DOLLARS because I want a limited edition pet. $60 for a fucking netherwhelp. Yeah, there’s lots of other stuff in there, and I could use a new mousepad… but yeah, if it wasn’t for the pet, I’d go with the regular expansion. Remember what I said about being a little financially irresponsible? This is a fine example.

I completely understand your desire for the pet. I was heartbroken when I found out Murky was character based and not account based. He sits on another server gathering dust.

I would bemoan your spending money on the collectors edition, but I’m planning on buying a third copy of City of Heroes when the next “patch” comes out. Heh.

Yes, but the real question is…did you put it on your new Visa? ;-)

    mastercard. :)

Yes, but only because I don’t have much choice. Pre-orders have to be done with a credit card. But it doesn’t go through until it’s actually sent, and it’ll be paid off right away. :)

    Yay for immediate pay off!

Hey sweetie, share; what CMS are you guys rolling out?
